Everybody is waiting for the Zenfone 2. News and updates from different agencies, tech portals, and tech blogs are all talking about this device.
How awesome is this device? Well, I guess that having been sold out on the day of its launch is already enough reason to prove their supremacy in mobile phone technology.
ASUS is the first smartphone in the world equipped with a 4GB DDR3 RAM. It was officially launch in the Philippines last May 16 at the World Trade Center.
During the event, ASUS fans lined up to be among the first to witness and get hold of this talk-of-the-town smartphone.
Here is a quick look of what happened on the Zenfone 2 launch
Aside from being the first smartphone to have a 4GB RAM, ASUS Zenfone 2 also sports other features. A 64-bit 2.3GHz Super Quad-Core Intel Atom Z3580 processor with LTE data connection give the Zenfone 2 the mobile data speed of up to 250mbps powers it.
Much to our curiosity, we would like to get hold of this smartphone and see its real power. Good thing, our friends from ASUS Philippines sent us a unit of Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML). Now, we will really be able to test its power and will take it to the limits.
Let’s start with the box. The box is simple but has an elegant style. The phone’s main features are printed on the side of the box. The bottom contains the serial number and IMEI. The front of the box has the photo of the ASUS Zenfone 2 handset. The color of the handset printed on the box is the color of the unit inside.
What’s inside the box? It has the Zenfone 2 handset, user manual, warranty card, earphones, extra earbuds, charger, and micro USB cable for charging and data transfer.

I have not tested the phone yet but my initial impression about its look and design is pretty awesome. Users might think that this phone might cause them a fortune. The design will fit all gender, and across different lifetyle
The back of the phone gives me a premium feel. Although the power/sleep button is hard to reach when using a single hand, the Zenphone 2 can be put to sleep mode by tapping the screen twice, as well as in waking it up.
It also has unique gestures for easy access the favorite apps. Like for example for camera, users just have to draw a letter “C” on the screen to immediately access the camera, or “S” for accessing the messanging app. This can be customized in the settings of the phone.
Another feature tha I like about the Zenfone 2 is you can disable some apps. I use to root my phone even upon purchase to maximize its power and to disable the bloatwares. But with ASUS Zenfone 2, I don’t need to root it anymore. All I need to do disable them from the menu.
I haven’t tested the camera but I was able to witness its power during the demo at the “Experience2Morrow event held at the World Trade Center. Suprisingly, it beats the camera of the other leading foreign brands. Since I have an iPhone 6, and Galaxy S6 Edge, I will be personally putting this to a test and see the difference.
Watch out for my full review soon. And oh, because of this ASUS Zenfone 2, I am considering selling my iPhone 6 already. =)
