The UnionBank of the Philippines (UBP), in its pursuit of quality service while providing its employees a good working environment, has transformed its HR strategy with Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud, enabling them to be one step ahead of their competitors.
“There are quite a few challenges, but I think one challenge is about dealing with change,” said Michelle Rubio, Senior Vice President and Human Resource Director, UnionBank of the Philippines, during the small group discussion held at Makati Shangri-La last November 10.
UBP’s journey to the cloud is one scary yet powerful journey and is a concrete evidence that disruption, though not easy, could be exciting and fruitful. A publicly-listed universal bank in the Philippines, UBP has transformed to become a digital bank.
Rubio emphasized during the discussion that before their journey into Oracle HCM, the bank has gone through several challenges which strengthened their determination to make the shift.
“Before our journey into Oracle HCM, we were experiencing a lot of difficulty in terms of managing talents because of our inconsistencies, and then information about people was very hard to put together. It was practically manual.”
UBP’s digital transformation did not happen overnight as it has started its transformation many years ago. The risky leap to Oracle HCM, for one, defines what it is and what it will be for the organization’s HR system and management in the long run.
“The Union Bank of the Philippines’ Human Capital Management powered by Oracle Cloud increases visibility of information for employees and leaders to have autonomy over managing their own development and performance in alignment with organizational goals and delivers on the bank’s promise of digital transformation to all,” she added.
